ETO Sterilizer

ETO Sterilizer is type of device / machine which is used to kill or eliminate all types of microorganisms like bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores from surface or from an object.  It is generally used on health, medical & laboratory to ensure that the equipment, instruments and surfaces are free from harmful microorganisms.

Types

ETO (ethylene oxide) sterilizers are generally used in healthcare. It is idea sterilizer because it consists of heat & moisture – sensitive medical instruments which is not possible in steam or dry heat sterilization. Following are the types, which you can select base on your end requirements. 

  • Batch Sterilizers

  • Tabletop Sterilizers

    As the name suggests such types sterilizers are in table top format & required less space. This is specifically designed for low volume sterilization for smaller health or medical places such as clinics, dental or veterinary practice.

  • Low-temperature sterilizers

    These types of sterilizers are made in such way to operate at lower temperatures than regular sterilizers;it is very much helpful to reduce the risk of damage of heat-sensitive medical devices. It is used in hospitals and healthcare.

  • Combination Sterilizers

    As the name suggests it is the combination of multiple sterilizer such as low temperature hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilizer or UV light, to provide a more comprehensive sterilization process.

Process

The Ethylene sterilization process is conducted into three main phases which are the pre-conditioning phase, the sterilization phase, and the Aeration phase.

Pre-conditioning phase

This phase allows microorganisms to grow under controlled temperature and humidity. In this phase, the controlled temperature and humidity is provided such that the passive infectious agents, micro-organisms, and bacteria come into the active state.

Sterilization phase

This is the major phase in which the product is exposed to a sterilizing agent say ethylene oxide under a controlled temperature, pressure and humidity. The process can be used to sterilize multiple devices simultaneously.

Aeration phase

In this phase, Ethylene oxide gas is removed. The batch loads under a controlled temperature and humidity to eliminate the residue of ethylene oxide gas.
